Greetings fellow earthlings!
Hoader? Moi?
Central issues of late relate to focusing on getting grounded, but in a good way! A practical measure and mission that my friend T and I are undertaking focuses on 'luxe n less' as a way to make sense of what you've got, and how to be creative with what you already have instead of addictively buying 'treats' or trawling shops (op or otherwise).
We are creating our own templates, identifying why we want 'less' and what we want 'more of'. More experiences. More creative time. Less clutter buggyness and more room to breathe and move! Yes, a million others have been here and done this ... but as I have problems dealing with issues of order and the finishing of tasks, I feel that it's going to have a different process.
For example, I can't just say 'well I'll stop op shopping'. I have to identify what it is that happens when I go op shopping, what kind of 'buzz' is occurring, and why I feel so compelled. Am I afraid of 'missing out'? If so, what is it that's really missing? Is it that I need the 'instant fix'? I tell myself it's okay because 'it's cheap', but cheap still adds up! As T and I forage into our minds, hearts and pockets we will be sharing more of our experiences and ideas when it comes to 'using what you've got', saving money and making wiser choices when it's tempting to 'have a treat'. We're not just going to look at op shopping, because this mind set can happen when it comes to buying junk food or even saying 'yes' to things that you don't have time for. It's about healthy boundaries that come from a deeper, grounded place inside.
Idea for today:
Sick of all those things that need to be mended lying around? Why not learn to hem pants properly and then use it as a form of meditation? I learned how today and feel a little bit more empowered when it comes to managing what I've already got.
If you aren't going to hem those pants or take in that dress, then decide whether it's worth paying for a tailor to do it. Once you've made this decision, do a downward facing dog and have a glass of water. Lovely.
Good luck ducks, and see you soon!
